Welcome to Mountain Roots Rolfing® with Kelly Phillips

Rolfing is a manual therapy approach to organizing the body’s structure for better everyday functional movement and structural alignment. Throughout life we experience stress and injuries in many ways; from falls, accidents, car wrecks, surgeries, pregnancy, birth, emotional stress or our daily lives. When these stressors persist the body can become disorganized, creating seemingly stuck posture, movements or experiencing less range of motion and/or pain. Rolfing focuses on addressing the body as a whole; through the soft tissues, fascia, skeletal structure, and the nervous system to help people be more aware of their movements, space around them and discover ease in both posture and functional movement. When the body’s structure is aligned, it uses less energy and effort for movement and living within gravity. Muscles, joints and connective tissues, can all move and function with more ease. When the body is more organized this leads to less pain, tension, holding, more range of motion and allows the person to maintain daily life with more mental and bodily balance.

Rolfing is a powerful process lending a sense of freedom and expanse in one's body!

About Kelly Phillips

Raised in Yellowstone National Park, Kelly developed a deep connection to the natural world early in life — a foundation that carried her through a physically demanding 13-year career as a Wildland Firefighter. She served on a variety of crews, including the Helena Hotshots, Helitack, and Wildland Fire Modules, all while earning her Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Colorado State University.

Years of high-impact work left her with chronic knee and neck pain — and a growing curiosity about the body’s innate capacity to heal. After experiencing the transformative effects of Rolfing® firsthand, Kelly knew she had found her next path. She completed her training at the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute in Boulder, Colorado, graduating as a Certified Rolfer® in 2022.

Today, she practices in Cody, Wyoming, working with people of all ages — from infants to elders — helping them find greater ease, resilience, and connection within their bodies. Kelly believes that lasting change comes not just from addressing pain, but from honoring the whole person and the story their body carries.
